Picnic with short movies

“Picnic with short movies” – filmmakers and their projects needed!

If you would like to present your movie projects please submit your best work for screening in a new Dublin based gallery (http://www.madartstudio.com/). The evening event will take place 24th of June 2010 and its aim is to promote the filmmakers and to give them new socialising possibilities. Feel free to bring any advertising materials promoting yourself or your business.

'digitse the nation' follow up

A workshop Ben and myself done this morning with some 5th and 6th class students at St.Audoens National School this morning in conjunction with 'Digitise the Nation' and 'Kavaleer Productions'.



The kids were an amazing laugh, extremely talented in art and had some very creative stories to be told.

It was a great morning had by all.

Class Content:

- An Introduction to Animation and the Animation process.

- Drawing Characters and looking at facial expressions.

- Using facial expressions to tell story.

- Drawing Storyboards

- Animating Workshop, using Freeware Programme ‘Pencil’

and

- Conclusions and possibilities for the children.

Steve Woods works in animation, documentaries and has also made a number of short dance films. In 1989 he helped set up the Galway Film Fleadh. He lectures at the National Film School at Dun Laoghaire, where he has taught experimental animation for thirteen years.

Still Films are currently seeking showreels from animators based in Ireland for a pilot mix-media project.

Digitise the nation

Kavaleer http://kavaleer.com and Pegbar (us!) http://pegbar.ie will be showing St. Audeons National School school students how digital art is created; sharing with the children how cartoons are made and inspiring the next generation of animation artists!

Date: Friday the 21st of May

Time: 3hours in the morning.

Life Drawing Dublin

A new Life Drawing group in Dublin

The human form is perhaps the most enduring theme in visual art; life drawing is the traditional art discipline of drawing from a live model.

This group aims to provide regular life drawing sessions for anyone wishing to improve their ability to depict the human form. All disciplines and skill levels welcome.
